DISABLED VETERANS RETRAINING (DVR)
-Program Outline -
NARRATIVE
Conflicting unemployment rates among disabled veterans opposed to the national average, along with serious barriers to employment leaves no doubt - an efficacious remedy is required to level the playing concerning jobs for our disabled veterans.
Responding to this need, Prior Military Productions was created in order to retrain and employ disabled veterans under our DISABLED VETERANS RETRAINING (DVR) program.
TRAINING
Working closely with the U.S. Department of Labor - Veterans’ Education and Retraining (VETS) unit, Prior Military Productions, Inc. (PMP) will retrain up to 2,000 disabled vets (DAVs) by the end of 2019 in the television/motion picture industry employing these individuals at the Veterans’ Entertainment (VET) network generating original program content. (SEE Network Outline).
The CLASSROOM COMPONENT consists of four (4) - eight (8) weeks of intensive academic work similar to the training vets received in the military during their (AIT) ADVANCED INDIVIDUAL TRAINING for their (MOS) Military Occupational Skills.
Following successful completion of the Classroom Component (CC) trainees move on into HANDS-ON SKILL TRAINING (HOST). Host provides a working environment on actual television/motion picture sets. Trainees will perform a wide range of tasks consistent with their ability level.
We want each DAV well versed in numerous production jobs. Multi-tiered cross training affords easier placement post graduation. Trainees will work unsupervised on one (pilot) project (short film) from script to screen. Trainers grade the finished product.
TRAINERS
Consummate industry mavens will oversee training.
COST
The cost per trainee is $19,500. Additional film school scholarships will be awarded to those individuals seeking employment career paths in directing and/or producing. Costs include all training (CC) materials, food and in some cases lodging.
CLOSING
This is a unique program designed to address the specific needs of our disabled veterans. Revenues earned via advertising/distribution perpetuate the model. Our trainees will be proficient in all aspects of production - matriculating to their respective areas of interest/ability - culminating in immediate employment.
